Keith M. Parent, Chief Executive Officer
As owner and CEO, Mr. Parent directs the strategic and customer development of Court Square Data Group, Inc., where he has created an organization of highly- trained and experienced technology professionals dedicated to providing quality services to its customers.
Mr. Parent understands customer requirements and enforces process control for a functional IT environment. A sole proprietor of the company, Mr. Parent has built a professional senior staff with the skills and experience to lead the development of additional business opportunities and geographic expansion.
Mr. Parent's entrepreneurial approach has made Court Square one of the most prominent IT companies in Western Massachusetts. It has been named to the Inc. 500 and twice to the Inc. Inner City 100, and was also named the 2002 Small Business of The Year by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. Massachusetts Governor W. Mitt Romney presented Mr. Parent with an urban investment award in 2003. He was selected to be on the Technology transition team for Governor Deval Patrick. In 2008, Court Square was named a Pacesetter by the Boston Business Journal.
Mr. Parent was recently nominated as CEO of the year by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. He has also been nominated as Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as chosen to serve on the Board of Directors for BEACON (Biomedical Engineering Alliance and Consortium) and the Western Massachusetts (RTC) Regional Technology Corporation.
Mr. Parent has an extensive technical background, including OpenVMS system management, PC and Macintosh client/server development, ERP system design, and Oracle and 4GL-database development. He has presented at DECUS (Digital Equipment Users Society) and has provided training courses for Digital Equipment Corporation (Compaq).
Before co-founding Court Square in 1995, Mr. Parent served as a consultant for Winthrop-Lawrence in Agawam, Mass. Prior to that, he worked for Digital Equipment, Farm Credit Bank and Amherst Associates (now known as McKessonHBOC). He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Siena College.
